This is a call for Jewish student artists in the Portland Metro area! You don’t have to be affiliated with a synagogue or other Jewish organization!
Morris Jackson is one of ORA’s newest members and we are thrilled to have him in our group! His sculptures are seductive, begging to be touched. There is movement that seemed poetic. Come see this work in person! Meet Morris and learn more about his technique.

ORA is proud to announce that Ros Kane was selected by an independent jury to be the featured solo artist that will launch Jewish Arts Month in Portland.
Her work will go up in the lobby of the MJCC February 26th and remain on display until the end of March. COME to the opening party February 26th @ 6:30pm.
Ros has an eye for detail and the skilled hands of a true artist. She captures every day moments of secular and Jewish life in some beautiful ways. Her husband loves trains , so you will also find some amazing renditions of locomotives that have captured her heart.
Ros, we are all so very proud of you and look forward to seeing the lobby walls adorned by your beautiful works.
Did I mention that her work will be available for purchase?
The Mittleman Jewish Community Center co sponsored a wonderful workshop with ORA Northwest Jewish Artists.
The students were accomplished painters, ceramicists, mosaic, fiber, glass artists, and poets. Rabbi Goldie Milgram guided the group through activities to bring warmth and trust into the room. She presented visual prompts, midrash, text study, and music before launching us to imagine, sketch, write, draw, design.
Inspiration came to us not only for the creation of new works, but also for the creation of more opportunities to use text study for the inspiration of new works.
Thank you MJCC…Thank you ORA leadership….and most especially, thank you Rabbi Goldie!
