Ora Social: Fun and Educational!!

When: Sunday Sept. 16th

These are the plans:

12:30pm to 1:30pm:  The EDUCATIONAL part of the Social.

Experts Laurie Fendel, Linda Bourne and Brauna Ritchie will share “Tried and True Ideas” about booth set-up,  display stands and “Ways to sell your ART.” Everyone is invited, new members or continuing members.  It is really important for newbies who will be showing at COA.

1:30pm to 3:30pm:  The SOCIAL part. 

Lots of mingling and noshing….. PLUS 1ST EVER ART SWAP!

There will be tables set up for you to bring art items that are no longer useful to you, put them on the table and take other items that you might be able to use. No money involved.

Please bring finger food to share, ORA will provide drinks.



We have arranged a PRIVATE TOUR of these two collections.
Here are the details, sure hope you can join us.
Date – Sunday, August 5th
Time – 11 am to noon (before the museum opens)
Cost – $4.00 per person (even if you are a member of OJM)
Lefty’s Cafe is closed on the weekends, but to continue our discussion we could either walk or drive to Whole Foods on NW 9th for lunch.

ORA Annual Meeting

When – Sunday, May 6th from 
1 pm to 3 pm.
Where – Neveh Shalom room 102
What –   We invite YOU and any artist friend, neighbor, or acquaintance who might be thinking about joining ORA.
It’s a time for artists to schmooze, nosh and ask questions about ORA.
We’ll vote for new officers for the coming year.
We invite everyone to bring one piece of your art work and share it with the group for 30 seconds.

ORA Annual JURY 

When – Sunday, June 3rd
Where  Neveh Shalom from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. 
What – If you want to show and sell your art at our largest art show of the year, Celebration of Art at the JCC, you need to first be juried into the show.
Celebration of Art is already scheduled for Saturday night, October 27th and Sunday, October 28th.
Who needs to jury for Celebration of Art?
***New members who want to show at Celebration of Art.
***Existing artists who have never shown at Celebration of Art.
***Existing members who have a different medium to sell.  The artist need to jury again for the new medium only.
***********Example, Sharon was first juried into the show displaying  2-D acrylic paintings.  Then she started working in clay, and wanted to show her vases.   In order to do that, she had to jury her clay work.

Art and Spirit Workshop #2

Bring along a sketch pad or other materials for writing/drawing.

This is the second presentation in our Art and Spirit Workshops .

We already have three more workshops tentatively scheduled. We will get the finalized schedule to you (hopefully) bu our annual meeting!

Come…learn, grow, be inspired! Even if you don’t work with Jewish themes, you will find inspiration !

We’ll do a Meet and Greet – We each bring and display a piece of our art and share. It’s a good way to get to know each other.

Art Jury:  June 3rd – 9:30 – 11:30 @ Neveh Shalom

If you haven’t juried your work yet and want to, this is the perfect time. We’re only going to have one jury this year.  If you’re new to this process, no need to stress–we’re emerging artist friendly!

*You can’t be in Celebration of Art without jurying into the show.

If you know anyone who would like to be a member or guest COA artist and jury, please send them our way.
